Do you like to Like on Facebook?

For many users, Facebook has become synonymous with liking and sharing. There is nothing wrong with that, of course, since facilitating sharing is one of the key goals for both the social channel and all brands that use it to promote their business. With this goal in mind, Facebook has introduced a number of functionalities that can increase posts´ shareability, such as Embedded Posts and a new News Feed, but the company believes that the latest changes to Facebook´s Like and Share buttons can do even better.

Recently, Facebook announced that it was testing its new designs of Like and Share buttons and that it has rolled out a combined Like-Share button for a few select brands. An analysis of the pilot stage revealed that the new buttons increased both engagement and traffic referrals, Facebook revealed on a recent blog post I came across.

Following the successful trial period, the social networking site is now rolling out the new buttons to all users. Facebook claimed that, thanks to the new Like and Share buttons, the average numbers of Likes and Shares have gone up by 5%. Considering that these two buttons are viewed around 22 billion times per day, the figure represents quite a significant increase, the social media channel added.
