Generating leads for your website is an essential part of any marketing strategy. However, 78% of B2B marketers feel that generating leads is the biggest challenge that they face, according to a new infographic published by Placester. This was followed by a concern for ´improving lead quality´ (60%) and ´increasing product or service awareness´ (55%).

The study also revealed that 39% of marketers feel that outbound marketing is the most effective way of generating B2B leads, followed by events (27%) and online marketing (17%).

Content is considered one of the key ways for marketers to generate leads, with 71% of B2B marketers using this method. 88% of those using content said that case studies and customer testimonials were the most effective B2B content.

Perhaps surprisingly, social networks such as Twitter and Facebook were considered to be the least effective tools for generating B2B leads. Of these, LinkedIn was voted as the most efficient social media platform. Something of a dark horse in the social media game, LinkedIn has rapidly become one of the most efficient ways for industry experts to communicate with one another. As it is largely a platform for professionals, the quality and credibility of users is high, and it can be a great way to promote your brand and generate leads.

Placester advises that generating B2B leads can be difficult to get right, as different industries have their own specific needs. It can also be hard to find the time to produce quality content, particularly for new or small businesses.
