Instagram is one of the fastest growing social media platforms. Brands that adopted its use early on are now reaping the benefits of being forward-thinking. But it´s not too late to jump on the bandwagon; here are a few tips that will help you create a powerful identity on Instagram and engage your audience.

Since Instagram relies mostly on visualisation, you´ll have to come up with a captivating visual representation of your business. One thing to keep in mind is that most of Instagram´s users are younger than those on other major social platforms, so the key to making them interested is to make your brand look exciting, fun and engaging.

It´s just as important, however, to make the best of the available tools – helping you to optimise the time and efforts you put into developing your Instagram presence and telling you whether your devotion is worth it. There are tools that can tell you when followers are online and which posts they engage most with. You can also find out where most of your followers come from, helping you target your audience more efficiently.

One of the most effective methods to engage consumers is user-generated content. Posting other people´s images on your Instagram account will make your brand appear friendly and open, but will also expand your brand´s reach; the author of the content is likely to promote your brand, too.
