Video can be an extremely powerful marketing tool. It boosts engagement and helps conversion. But do you know just how effective it is? A new infographic I came across by video advertising platform Animoto reveals that almost three-quarters of consumers say they are more likely to buy a product or a service after they have watched a video about it. Sounds promising, doesn´t it?
Overall, there´s a great demand for online videos, Animoto found. As many as 96% of those polled think videos are helpful in deciding whether they want a product or not and some 94% of consumers have viewed an online video in the past week. Over three-quarters of smartphone owners watched a video on their mobile device over the past seven days. The appetite for online video is the strongest among consumers aged between 18 and 24 – in fact, 40% of them watch videos at least ten times per week.
When it comes to the types of videos they watch, two in three respondents cite instructional videos, followed by product and service videos, viewed by 64% of those polled. The same proportion of respondents also spend time watching entertaining videos, the poll revealed.
What´s more important, however, is that online video can positively influence brand perception. More than seven in ten of those interviewed say that they believe companies producing videos leave a lasting impression and almost three in five state that they are more trustworthy.
These figures highlight the business opportunities that online video can create.
